Job Summary

This role assists the Store Manager and Assistant Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Family store. The ideal candidate will support staff training, implement sales strategies, and maintain a safe and clean store environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Staff Training and Supervision: Support the development and supervision of store staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
  • Sales and Production: Collaborate with the Store Manager to implement strategies that meet production and sales goals, driving business growth and success.
  • Store Maintenance and Appearance: Assist in maintaining a safe, secure, and clean store environment, adhering to OSHA and Salvation Army safety and security policies.
  • Customer Development and Retention: Implement plans to enhance the customer experience, creating a positive and enjoyable shopping environment.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the Store Manager and other team members, sharing ideas, concerns, and incidents to ensure seamless store operations.
  • Financial Management: Work with the Store Manager to maintain income and expenses within budgeted parameters, ensuring financial stability and success.
  • Flexibility and Availability: Be available to work flexible schedules, including early shifts, late shifts, and weekends, to support store operations and employee training.
  • Image and Reputation: Contribute to improving the image of The Salvation Army among staff and in the community, upholding the organization's mission and values.
  • Resource Protection: Implement product control procedures to prevent shrinkage through theft or spoilage, protecting resources under supervision.
  • Mission Alignment: Support the mission statement of The Salvation Army, upholding its values and principles in all aspects of store operations.
