Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care by performing diagnostic medical sonograms, utilizing complex ultrasound equipment and transducers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic medical sonograms, including abdominal and OB/Gynecology ultrasound examinations, to obtain high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Develop and implement effective patient care plans, taking into account patient age, body habitus, and medical history.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
  • Document patient information, examination results, and any relevant medical history in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and departmental efficiency.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited ultrasound program or a graduate from a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program with current ARDMS certification.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Ob-Gyn from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Abdomen from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
  • Basic Life Support within 4 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two (2) years experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in a major medical center.
  • Experience with Acuson Sequoia, Philips iu-22 and Clickview ultrasound reporting package.
