About the Role

The Dedicated Mortgage Lending Associate is a key position within Citigroup Inc. responsible for contributing to the formulation and implementation of long and short-term strategic plans to increase market share and maximize opportunities for growth throughout the marketplace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver mortgage lending services to clients in consultation with assigned Home Lending Officers, including collecting borrower information, consulting on mortgage options, quoting rates and terms, and addressing follow-ups on the application and mortgage processing.
  • Gather information from clients and third-party sources, applying judgment to determine needed items to submit files to underwriting for approval.
  • Monitor the application pipeline to ensure key dates are met and communicate with clients on requirements and timelines.
  • Manage the marketing process for the Home Lending Officer supported, including marketing material management and follow-up on prospective customer leads.
  • Partner with Operations teams to ensure seamless transfer of the loan application and provide documents to processors and acquire additional information needed.
  • Manage customer inquiries and build and maintain relationships with client book of work.
  • Assess risk when making business decisions, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in Mortgage/Loan Origination.
  • Banking experience preferred.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.
Education
  • Bachelor's/University degree or High School diploma/equivalent with at least 2 years of relevant Loan Origination experience.
Competencies
  • Expert knowledge of general lending products and services and pricing alternatives in the industry.
  • Ability to comprehend and explain financial calculations and pricing alternatives.
  • Strong communication skills with customers about proper documents and information needed to obtain a particular loan.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations governing consumer lending, including fair lending, privacy, and RESPA.
  • Self-starters who can work independently or work with existing partnerships with a proven track record.
  • Ability to work as part of a team to grow the assigned branch/branches or community organization.

This position requires registration as a mortgage loan originator with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (Registry) and obtaining a unique identifier from the Registry before engaging in mortgage loan originator activities. As part of this registration process, you must be fingerprinted unless you have fingerprints on file with NMLS Registry that are less than 3 years old. This position further requires maintaining and renewing that registration on an annual basis, updating registration information with the Registry on a timely basis, and providing your unique identifier to consumers as required by applicable SAFE Act regulations and Citi policies and procedures.
