Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough reviews of mortgage loan files to ensure compliance with client guidelines and regulations
  • Utilize automated underwriting systems to determine loan approval and clearing conditions
  • Enter data into the client's loan operating system and maintain accurate records
  • Collaborate with loan officers and processors to resolve issues and provide excellent customer service
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and changes in regulations
Requirements
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in conventional mortgage loan underwriting
  • Strong knowledge of income calculations, tax returns, and credit reports
  • Basic knowledge of appraisal and ability to recognize red flags and ineligible properties
  • Thorough working knowledge of GSE underwriting guidelines and automated underwriting engines (DU/LP)
  • Strong analytic, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong ability to time manage
  • Ability to work in a flexible and production-oriented environment
