Coolant Technician Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Coolant Technician to join our team at a well-known manufacturer of Precision Metal Components in Elgin, IL.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring and maintaining the coolant tanks, ensuring proper concentration and making adjustments as needed
  • Adhering to the coolant change schedule for each machine to ensure optimal performance
  • Keeping the recycling area clean and free of debris
  • Recycling old coolant by adding the correct chemicals to restore it to a usable condition
  • Properly disposing of non-reusable coolants and soaps
  • Performing daily and weekly preventive maintenance tasks on the coolant processing system equipment
  • Providing backup support for the janitor, including taking out trash in the breakroom, bathrooms, and offices
  • Sweeping and mopping when the janitor is not present
  • Assisting forklift drivers and being willing to be trained on forklift operation

Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a dirty and hands-on environment
  • Flexibility and willingness to assist other departments as needed
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Light industrial experience preferred
  • Diploma or GED required
