Job Title: General Superintendent

Turner Construction is seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Superintendent to join our team in Omaha, NE. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for supporting the Superintendents and Foremen on various projects, overseeing trade labor hire, transfer, and layoff, and ensuring the smooth execution of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with the Operations Manager to assign Superintendent and Foreman positions.
  • Assign and coordinate trade field assignments with project needs.
  • Support Superintendents throughout project duration.
  • Review project schedules with Superintendents/Foremen to ensure critical activities and decisions remain on task.
  • Document project field issues impacting budget, quality, or schedule.
  • Respond to subcontractor requests for field issues.
  • Provide oversight for Superintendent/Foreman in developing and maintaining a Resource Allocation Control System (RACS).
  • Implement Project Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) program.
  • Identify Self-Perform opportunities and develop proposals.
  • Manage Self-Perform performance.
  • Work with Business Unit Safety Director to implement BU Safety Program.
  • Review Capabilities, Accomplishments, and Progress (ReCAP) progress for field tradespeople.
  • Maintain progression/succession plan for high-potential tradesmen.
  • Manage training for tradesmen.
  • Support Business Development, Estimating, and Project Executives with operational plans for pursuits.
  • Support Project Executive, Project Superintendent, and Project Manager in developing logistics plans and schedules.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of ten years' related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • Proven written and verbal communications abilities.
  • Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite, SAP, SharePoint, etc.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to travel 50%+ of the time.
Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather and risk of electric shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to very loud.
