Department Background
The Department of Psychology & Counseling is committed to fostering a vibrant learning environment that supports both undergraduate and graduate students. We offer a comprehensive undergraduate program in Psychology, a master's program in Counseling, and a doctoral program in Clinical Psychology, all designed to equip students with the necessary skills for their future careers.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
1. Maintain an active research agenda that aligns with the Department's goals of promoting diverse perspectives and social equity.
2. Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals to contribute to the academic community.
3. Pursue external funding opportunities to support ongoing research initiatives.
4. Mentor and supervise students, particularly those in our Clinical Psychology PhD program.
5. Engage in service activities that are appropriate for the rank of Associate Professor.
Teaching Expectations
We are looking for candidates who are enthusiastic about teaching and mentoring students. The successful applicant will teach courses in:
- Undergraduate and graduate Cognitive Psychology
- Undergraduate and graduate Statistics
- Undergraduate Biopsychology
Qualifications
Applicants must possess a doctoral degree in Psychology or a closely related social science discipline. Preference will be given to candidates with prior university teaching experience and a strong record of scholarly activity.
