Employment Guidance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Employment Guidance Specialist to join our team at Mass., Inc. as an Employment Counselor. The successful candidate will provide expert guidance and support to customers in achieving their vocational, educational, and training goals.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments of customers to determine their career goals and develop personalized career action plans.
- Provide one-on-one counseling sessions to customers, utilizing labor market information and resume review to identify marketability and develop career strategies.
- Conduct RESEA reviews, which include intensive one-on-one career action plan and job search review.
- Develop and deliver workshops and seminars on career development, resume writing, and interviewing techniques.
- Maintain and document all services and notes in the Massachusetts One Stop Employment System database for monitoring, review, and compliance.
- Perform related duties such as maintaining records, preparing reports, and attending meetings.
- Demonstrated experience counseling job seekers on knowledge and skills gaps and assisting them in developing plans to address their barriers to employment.
- Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
- Extensive knowledge of and experience with labor market tools such as HWOL, TORQ, MassCIS, JobQuest, and other related labor market information tools used to counsel job seekers on career pathways.
- Knowledge of the principles and techniques of counseling for vocational guidance and job placement.
- Knowledge of interviewing techniques.
- Applicants must have at least two years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional experience in employment counseling, vocational counseling, guidance, placement counseling, rehabilitation counseling, or educational counseling.
- A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major in counseling or guidance may be substituted for the required experience.
