Farnsworth Group is on the lookout for a Lead Civil Engineering Specialist in our Champaign, IL office.In this capacity, you will be tasked with delivering cost-effective, user-friendly, and aesthetically pleasing developments for our private and municipal clients while fostering new client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, plan, and oversee a variety of client-driven civil engineering initiatives
Coordinate and finalize projects from conception to execution
Provide support to internal and external clients on Land Development projects
Collaborate with various Farnsworth Group disciplines and client consultants
Manage project timelines and staffing for both internal and external stakeholders
Draft project proposals
Contribute to business development initiatives
Facilitate the professional growth and development of junior team members
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
Over 20 years of civil engineering experience
Professional Engineer (PE) License is mandatory; Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) is a plus
A strong team player capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
Extensive background in site design for both new and redevelopment projects
Thorough understanding of IDOT Standard Specifications and requirements
Significant experience with municipal and development-related transportation projects
Preferred Skills:
Experience in sanitary sewer, water line, and stormwater management design is advantageous
Ability to effectively manage client relationships and engage in business development activities
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
Strong contract negotiation skills
