POSITION OVERVIEW AND REQUIREMENTS: As a vital member of our organization, the Voice Systems Educator will deliver engaging classroom training to equip Information Management Specialists (IMS), Information Management Technical Specialists (IMTS), locally engaged staff (LES), Diplomatic Security (DS), and personnel from various U.S. Government agencies with knowledge on diverse telephone/voice and data networking systems along with associated equipment.

LOCATION OF POSITION: Candidates should be prepared for potential travel opportunities.

ESSENTIAL CERTIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE INCLUDE:
  • A minimum of five years of experience and comprehensive knowledge in voice systems engineering, standard installation practices, and operational maintenance procedures is required. Proven experience in delivering classroom instruction in an adult learning environment is essential. Instructors should exhibit dynamic presentation skills.
  • Infrastructure - Familiarity with voice and data systems.
  • Expertise in engineering, standard installation, operation, and maintenance procedures.
  • Proficient understanding of telephony and networking terminology, as well as industry standards, with the ability to convey these concepts to beginners.
  • Experience in teaching voice and/or data networking.
  • Capability to program and maintain Avaya switches, including CS1000E Call Server. Vendor certification is preferred.
  • Experience in programming and maintaining voicemail systems such as Call Pilot or Cisco Unity Connection.
  • Creation and/or delivery of online digital training content.
  • Ability to identify and resolve QOS, routing, and real-time communication issues.
  • Minimum Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification required within 180 days of employment commencement.
  • Certified Technical Trainer (CTT+) certification; if not certified upon entry, must obtain the CTT+ certification or complete the relevant training course within 180 days of employment.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience in teaching voice and/or data networking.
  • Background in Call Accounting Systems and knowledge of Call Detail Recording for Avaya/Meridian Systems.
  • Ability to work with and configure third-party Call Accounting Systems.
  • Understanding of Telecommunication Security and familiarity with the National Telecommunications Security Working Group guidelines.
  • Experience in curriculum design.
  • Creation and/or delivery of online digital content.
  • Security Clearance is required; candidates must be eligible for clearance at the Secret Level.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES FOR ALL LEVELS OF VOICE TRAINERS:
  • Conduct assigned courses and manage the classroom environment, including setup of computers, virtual labs, and instructional materials. Prepare student evaluations, addressing performance and learning gaps, and provide counseling to enhance student outcomes.
  • Exhibit excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal, while presenting advanced training concepts and methodologies using appropriate delivery technology.
  • Possess experience as an instructor in a technical training environment, with comprehensive knowledge of training methods and adult education principles.
  • Engage in special projects as needed, including attending seminars and training sessions to gather information for curriculum development.
  • Consult with clients to analyze requirements and adapt instructional materials to meet the functional needs of employees.
  • Update curricula and courseware to align with industry and organizational standards.
  • Design and facilitate workshops, seminars, and review sessions.
  • Assist in the development and revision of industry-standard training materials.
  • Provide one-on-one tutoring and review sessions as necessary to complement classroom and online training.
  • During the contract period, the contractor will be expected to deliver professional and technical expertise as outlined above.
  • Travel to various locations may be required to conduct training.
  • Collaborate with fellow instructors to install and configure new equipment for the training environment, ensuring all necessary technology is operational.
  • Adhere to established organizational policies, processes, and procedures.
