About the Role
We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our Accessories New Product Development Team. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for managing multiple complex engineering projects with minimal direction. You'll provide project management and technical direction to ensure successful and timely implementation of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead moderate to high complexity projects or projects with moderate item (SKU) count, including next-generation products, new to Milwaukee, or new to world products
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Project Management, Engineering, Quality, Product Management, Operations, and Supply Chain
- Communicate technical details, ideas, and concepts to engineers and non-engineers in multiple locations
- Drive design of projects to meet market-driven design guides and fulfill cost, timing, reliability, and high-volume manufacturing requirements
- Identify project risks and implement risk reduction plans
- Analyze, evaluate, and select from design execution alternatives to best meet specification objectives and implement designs into mass production
- Accountable for technical elements of project execution, including integration of complicated components and assemblies, material selection, packaging, safety, regulatory, and standards compliance
- Conduct design and safety reviews as needed to gain necessary approvals for product development phase progressions
- Comply with all internal Milwaukee Tool procedures covering new product development and design output
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or educational equivalent
- Minimum of 4-6 years of relevant working experience
- Ability to travel internationally and domestically several times of year
- Ability to manage several simultaneous projects
- Highly developed Mechanical aptitude, including a broad knowledge of engineering materials used in small appliances or power tools, and an understanding of the manufacturing processes associated with these materials
- Working knowledge of CAD, with NX experience preferred
- Strong problem-solving skill set and understanding of design, testing, and manufacturing processes
- Basic understanding of various cost drivers associated with materials, labor, and overhead
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software, including Microsoft Project
