Loan Processing Specialist

Civista Bank is seeking a highly skilled Loan Processing Specialist to join our team. As a Loan Processing Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting world-class customer service by expediting the consumer loan process.

• Loan Application Verification: Verify consumer loan applications in the current loan origination system for accuracy, ensuring compliance with regulatory and bank policies.
• Income Calculation and Verification: Verify wage income calculations are correct, including paystubs, W2's, 1099's, and Social Security/Retirement income.
• Vendor Services and Appraisals: Order and review vendor services for HELOC's, update the loan accordingly, and send the borrower required appraisals within the required time frame.
• Insurance and Loss Payee Verification: Request vehicle insurance declaration pages for vehicle secured loans, and hazard, flood, and condominium declaration pages for HELOC's. Verify coverage is adequate for the loan.
• Payoff Information and Exception Approvals: Assist lenders with collecting payoff information for both internal and external obligations, and request exception approvals as well as residual income calculation requests to underwriting when applicable to the loan.
• Loan Closing and Document Preparation: Prepare and print loan closing documents directly to the lender's branch printer, and complete verbal verification of employment prior to loan closing.
• Document Indexing and Review: Separate and index loan documents into the OnBase system, verifying all documents are present and accurate according to Civista Bank's policies.
• Denied Loan Applications and Communication: Perform a second review and process denied loan applications, including sending the borrower the Notice of Action taken within the required time frame, and maintain open and proactive communication with lenders and other departments.
• 1Source Support and Other Duties: Provide 1Source support for the Consumer Loan 1Source Team, and perform other duties as assigned.

• Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills: Three plus years of related experience originating or processing consumer loans, High School Diploma/GED, and a significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.
• Work Environment: This position involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature, and fostering sound relationships with other entities (customers, vendors, etc.) is necessary.
