Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide expert care and support to patients with ostomies, draining wounds, and other related skin issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide follow-up and interventions to patients with ostomies, draining wounds, and other related skin issues, including those with pressure sores, ulcers, and fistulas.
  • Assess individual patient needs and goals, and provide educational programs to physicians, nursing, and other paramedical professionals on ostomy/wound care management and self-care education.
  • Conduct continuing educational programs for physicians and nursing personnel to provide current standards of practice for ostomy patients.
  • Provide patient/family teaching and education regarding ostomy/wound care and self-management.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 1 year previous clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse in caring for patients with abdominal stomas, draining wounds, fistulas, and pressure sores ulcers.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Completion of an accredited Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nursing (WOCN) program.
  • Registered Nurse License (California).
  • Wound Care Nurse Certificate from Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board.
  • Basic Life Support.
  • Ostomy Care Nurse Certificate from Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current Board Certification in Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nursing (CWOCN).
Work Environment:
  • Rotating Saturday coverage.
