Civil Engineer Trainee Position Overview

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Civil Engineer Trainee to join our team. As a Civil Engineer Trainee, you will be responsible for completing a 12-month training program that will prepare you for a Civil Engineer position. This program will provide you with the opportunity to develop practical proficiency in bridge engineering, transportation engineering, and soils engineering environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete a 12-month civil engineering training program
  • Develop practical proficiency in bridge engineering, transportation engineering, and soils engineering environments
  • Prepare for a Civil Engineer position

Requirements:
  • Four years of civil engineering experience, and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists
  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, or in a closely related field, which includes or was supplemented by major course work in civil engineering
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes possession of an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists

Additional Information:
  • This position requires possession of a valid driver's license which is not under suspension
  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions
