Position Overview:
The primary responsibility is to ensure that machinery and facilities are maintained in optimal working order. This includes enhancing the efficiency of equipment through comprehensive preventive and predictive maintenance practices. Swift and safe repairs of malfunctioning machinery are also essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance tasks.
- Proactively identify and implement improvements to enhance equipment and process efficiency.
- Support the installation, commissioning, and validation of new machinery.
- Exhibit strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities for mechanical, pneumatic, and minor electrical issues, including sensors and fault conditions.
- Replace faulty variable frequency drives and/or motors as necessary.
- Review and update technical documentation to maintain accurate preventive maintenance schedules.
- Analyze maintenance data to facilitate the establishment of a predictive maintenance strategy.
- Keep meticulous records of maintenance activities, parts utilized, and time invested.
- Set up and troubleshoot process machinery effectively.
- Collaborate closely with production teams to resolve technical challenges promptly.
- Possess knowledge of PLCs, hydraulics, AC/DC systems, fuses, and related components.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated mechanical proficiency through vocational training or relevant experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of plant operations and production equipment functionality.
- Ability to independently diagnose and rectify equipment issues, along with recommending sustainable solutions.
- Familiarity with inventory maintenance systems is essential.
- Capability to initiate and oversee equipment and facility projects under the Maintenance Manager's guidance.
- Proficiency in machining parts using lathes, mills, and welding equipment according to specifications.
- Experience with Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
- Basic arithmetic skills and the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Competence in using hand and power tools safely.
- Previous experience in manual fabrication, such as TIG or MIG welding, vertical milling, or engine lathe operation is preferred.
- Background in food processing with basic GMP training is advantageous.
- Prior experience in a leadership role within a high-speed packaging environment is preferred.
