Chair of Surgery Department

The Lebanese American University Gilbert & Rose Marie Chagoury School of Medicine is seeking a Chair for the Department of Surgery to lead the department forward into its next phase of growth. The Department of Surgery encompasses various divisions, including General Surgery, Urology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, and more.
The ideal candidate will have completed surgical training in one of the above-mentioned sub-specialties and hold strong leadership and administrative skills. They will be responsible for overseeing surgical residency training programs, medical student surgical education, and clinical research programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Department of Surgery forward in its growth and development
- Oversee surgical residency training programs
- Develop and implement academic leadership programs
- Recruit and manage faculty members
- Collaborate with other departments to advance the school's mission and vision
Requirements:
- Completed surgical training in a relevant sub-specialty
- Strong leadership and administrative skills
- Experience in academic leadership and faculty management
- Ability to develop and implement strategic plans
