Job Title: Structures and Mechanisms Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Structures and Mechanisms Engineer to join our team at Mclaurin Aerospace. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing subsystem management and integration oversight and insight in support of EHP Structures System Team, influencing the hardware development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and leverage understanding of integrated EHP architecture and operations as it pertains to Structures and Mechanisms interaction in specific hardware design and across interfaces.
  • Provide system requirements development and interpretation, including deviations and alternate standards, as it pertains to the NASA Technical Authority Design and Construction Standards and Subsystem Specifications for structures and mechanical systems.
  • Support the development of hardware and integrated Safety hazards and reviews.
  • Evaluate designs and perform technical and safety assessments.
  • Review and participate in test and verification of EHP hardware, including system and component level stress analysis.
  • Provide technical support to Program Office, Boards and Panel meetings as the structures and mechanisms subject expert.
Qualifications:
  • Requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering and normally possess 2-5 years of related experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, be able to work in a team, and develop cooperative relationships with NASA and commercial partners.
  • Structural or mechanical system design experience including familiarization with design and analysis tools and testing methods.
  • Experience conducting stress analysis and/or reviewing stress analysis models and reports.
  • Experience with NASA structural, mechanical, and safety standards and their application.
