Key Requirements:

  1. Applicants must possess a valid Oregon CNA II certification and basic life support credentials.
  2. New hires are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and provide proof on their first day.
  3. Candidates must successfully complete a drug screening, reference checks, and a background investigation to qualify for employment.

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting healthcare professionals with patient care and maintaining a positive clinic environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Perform patient care duties as assigned, which may include: managing schedules and patient flow; escorting patients to examination or procedure rooms; assisting with mobility, dressing, specimen collection, and preparation for examinations; gathering medication histories; and supporting healthcare providers during various procedures.
  2. Handle clerical tasks as assigned, which may involve: sending and receiving patient medical records; obtaining lab and x-ray reports; and completing necessary forms and requisitions.
  3. Manage environmental responsibilities as assigned, including: preparing instruments and equipment according to departmental protocols; cleaning examination and procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment between patient visits to uphold infection control standards; maintaining sterilization equipment; and managing supply inventory.
  4. Address organizational responsibilities as assigned, which may include: promoting patient rights; responding appropriately to emergency situations; and promptly communicating any patient or staff-related issues to supervisors.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Successful completion of a Certified Nursing Aide program.

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of one year of CNA experience is preferred, with prior clinic experience being advantageous.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must maintain a valid CNA II certificate in Oregon and hold CPR certification.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position involves a combination of medical office and examination/procedure room settings, with frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, and other common clinic conditions.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

The role requires varied activities, including standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting. It necessitates a full range of motion, including handling and lifting patients, as well as manual dexterity and coordination. The position may involve standing and walking for extended periods and occasionally lifting items weighing up to 25 pounds. Vision and hearing must be corrected to normal ranges, and the ability to work under stress or irregular hours is essential.
