Job Title: Senior Controller

Össur Patient Care, a leading orthotics and prosthetics network, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Controller to lead and professionalize the finance and accounting functions for the organization. As a key member of the company leadership team, the Senior Controller will be responsible for directing the core accounting functions and processes, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable accounting, month-end close, banking and treasury, sales and use tax processing, and financial controls maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain an environment of financial accountability, including a focus on internal controls, corporate compliance, and revenue capture.
  • Support leadership in making operational changes and improving performance.
  • Oversee the monthly close process, accounts payable, A/R invoicing, the application of cash receipts in a timely manner, and other finance and accounting functions.
  • Prepare required materials and manage the annual audit.
  • Strengthen and maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filing.
  • Develop staff and relationships with leadership to obtain high-value performance in a collaborative work environment.
  • Facilitate the ongoing learning, well-being, professional satisfaction, and development of staff through training, work assignments, increased responsibility/autonomy, and mentoring.
  • Lead post-merger integration of finance activities of acquired companies.
  • Coordinate with Revenue Cycle leadership to calculate accounts receivable reserves and the evaluation of patient accounts receivable in an accurate manner.
  • Oversee cash flow management; monitor cash flow needs within the system and provide proactive pathways in meeting projected cash balances.
Requirements and Experience:
  • The successful candidate will possess a proven track record in finance and accounting, with experience in multi-site operations. Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and drive change in a complex and fast-paced environment will be essential.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, finance, accounting, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of directly related financial experience with analytically challenging projects.
  • Active CPA license required; corporate accounting experience preferred.
  • Seasoned Accounting/Controller experience with large, multi-site healthcare delivery organizations (physician practice management businesses with more than 70 locations); expertise in healthcare finance, reimbursement, and governmental programs strongly preferred.
  • M&A experience strongly preferred, including leading finance post-merger integration activities.
  • Substantially knowledgeable in one or more of the following: quantitative analysis, financial analysis, healthcare economics, information systems, revenue cycle management, physician practice management.
  • Can build strong relationships across the clinical support, administrative, and clinicians in the practice.
  • Demonstrate ability to influence and engage others to work collaboratively across the organization to change and accept new ideas.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving capability.
  • Superb stakeholder management and communication skills, both written and oral, and ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Ability to focus under pressure and comfortable meeting tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to use and adopt decision support, practice management, and clinical support tools to enable decision-making.
