Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Specialist in Maternal Care to join our team at Merit Health Central. As a key member of our obstetrics department, you will provide exceptional care to expectant mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period.

About the Role

  • You will be responsible for managing both routine and high-risk pregnancies, monitoring fetal and maternal well-being, and assisting with deliveries.
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families regarding labor, delivery options, newborn care, and postpartum recovery.

Responsibilities

  1. Labor Support and Monitoring:
  • Monitor the progress of labor through regular assessment of contraction patterns, cervical dilation, and fetal heart rate.
  • Administer medications, including epidurals and Pitocin, as prescribed.

Requirements

  • A current RN license and certification in Labor and Delivery (or willingness to obtain)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities

Estimated Salary: $1894.00 per week
