- Leadership Skills: Exhibiting leadership qualities and applying them appropriately in various situations.
- Critical Thinking: Utilizing systematic critical thinking and data collection in nursing care delivery.
- Nursing Process: Engaging in assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation as part of the nursing process.
- Human Relationships: Developing and nurturing therapeutic relationships while considering the human experience of health and illness.
- Knowledge Application: Applying integrated knowledge relevant to the patient populations served within the unit.
- Flexibility: Being prepared to float to other departments when patient census is low.
This role requires a commitment of at least 36 hours per week, with some weekend shifts expected. Flexibility to float to other departments may be necessary.
Qualifications- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited institution.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution (preferred).
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Vermont or an active Compact Multi-State RN license in good standing.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in basic medical-surgical nursing (preferred).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers within three (3) months of hire.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within one (1) year of hire.
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training within one (1) year of hire.
- Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) certification (preferred).
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
- Strong multitasking capabilities.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and prevention skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
