We are seeking a proactive Lead Cybersecurity Engineer who is enthusiastic about automation, connectivity, security, and the deployment of robust technological frameworks. In an Agile setting, you will collaborate across departments with product managers, engineers, and various internal stakeholders to ensure that Octane's core technology and corporate IT infrastructure, both essential and publicly accessible, maintain high standards of reliability, security, and continuous improvement. You will leverage your skills in coding/scripting, cloud technologies, and system architecture to address the challenges of system maintenance, technology infrastructure development, and process automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement security technologies and initiatives that enhance the security posture of our cloud infrastructure and physical locations.
  • Develop technology integrations and solutions utilizing scripting languages and custom software.
  • Deliver enhancements in engineering, technology, and processes related to security and compliance operations.
  • Configure, maintain, and optimize identity provider (IdP) and mobile device management (MDM) systems.
  • Improve system, network, and application observability and telemetry.
  • Provide best practices recommendations, tutorials, blog content, sample code, and technical presentations tailored to various business and technical audiences.
  • Support foundational infrastructure enhancements through the design and implementation of interconnected systems.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers within the team and across the engineering organization.
  • Respond to outages and incidents promptly and efficiently, and participate in the team's after-hours on-call rotation.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience managing multiple projects in the design, construction, and operation of secure, fault-tolerant production systems in cloud or virtualized environments.
  • 3+ years of experience in Security, Infrastructure, or Technology engineering.
  • Advanced understanding of operating systems and server management.
  • Experience collaborating with distributed engineering teams.
  • Proficient in scripting/coding for automation and API integrations using tools such as Python, PowerShell, and Bash.
  • Experience designing and configuring Identity systems (Azure AD, Okta) and implementing SSO and provisioning.
  • Familiarity with configuring and maintaining security operations tools such as EDR, VPN/SASE, and firewalls.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, and GitOps.
  • Systems architecture experience in designing and deploying highly available, fault-tolerant solutions.
  • Skilled in designing and configuring networks, both cloud-based and on-premises.
