**Job Title:** Communication Professor

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a qualified Communication Professor to join our team at Southwestern Community College (N. Carolina). The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching assigned morning/afternoon Communication classes at our Macon Campus.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Prepare and teach assigned courses in accordance with course outlines and published course schedules.
  • Teach face-to-face Communication classes on the Macon Campus.
  • Collaborate with Arts and Sciences colleagues and administrators in program planning, assessment, and continuous improvement processes.
  • Maintain accurate records for each course taught.
  • Prepare, review, and update course outlines on a regular basis.
  • Recommend and assist with curriculum revisions as necessary.
  • Assist in selection and ordering of equipment, supplies, and textbooks.
  • Participate in college events and activities.
  • Cooperate in scheduled student evaluations of instructor and college.
  • Submit all college reports in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Attend instructor and departmental meetings as scheduled.
  • Be responsible for professional development and maintaining professional competence.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

  • Education: Master's Degree in Communication, or Master's Degree in a related discipline, with a minimum of 18 graduate-level hours in communication. At least two years of teaching experience required.
  • Preferred: Two years of college teaching experience in this field of expertise.

**Knowledge and Skills:** Ability to use computers and software to support instruction, including course management software, word processing, and student information database.
