Joining The Home for Little Wanderers means becoming part of a dedicated team focused on fostering brighter futures for children.

With a legacy spanning over two centuries, The Home for Little Wanderers has been instrumental in providing stability and hope to vulnerable children and their families. Our extensive array of community-based and residential programs supports thousands of at-risk youth from infancy to age 26. Many of these young individuals have faced challenges such as abuse, neglect, trauma, or family disruptions. As the oldest child welfare organization in the United States, we are committed to offering them safe environments, enduring loving relationships, and a secure pathway toward a hopeful future.

Out at Home, a program of Waltham House within The Home for Little Wanderers, is seeking a Therapist for their outpatient services aimed at supporting individuals and families within the LGBTQIA community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Employ treatment approaches that align with WPATH standards of care, program objectives, and agency protocols, tailored to clients' age and treatment requirements, including play/expressive therapy, individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy.
  • Conduct initial assessments and evaluations for new clients and families. Identify treatment needs and obstacles to development. Create treatment plans that address these needs and outline expected outcomes. Collaborate with clients and family members to establish treatment goals, demonstrating cultural competence and sensitivity.
  • Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care. Participate in staff meetings and case discussions; present client information. Consult with supervisors and team members regarding complex client issues. Facilitate communication among various service providers.
  • Timely submission of reports, documentation, and billing. Ensure that all documentation adheres to utilization review and quality assurance standards.
  • Engage in professional development through in-service training and external seminars to enhance clinical skills, particularly in providing specialized care to the LGBTQIA community.
  • May supervise Master's level interns.
  • For programs receiving third-party funding, must meet productivity targets and expectations set by program management.
  • May conduct training sessions, workshops, and consultations for educators, parents, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Social Work is required.
  • LMHC or LICSW credentials are preferred.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are required.

Commitment to Diversity

We are dedicated to promoting excellence in diversity, equity, and inclusion while fostering a culture that embodies these values. We believe that our diverse backgrounds enhance our ability to provide exceptional service and care to a wide range of children, families, and communities. Furthermore, our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging is integral to our mission of supporting vulnerable children and their families in achieving lasting positive change.
