Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant at Waccamaw Dermatology plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care. This dynamic individual will assist Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants in providing expert dermatology medical care to our patients.

Responsibilities include greeting and interacting with patients, collecting patient intake information, returning phone calls, responding to electronic patient correspondence, performing point-of-care testing, scribing in the electronic medical record system, setting up exam rooms, and preparing for surgical procedures. The Medical Assistant will also assist with surgical procedures, maintain medical terminology knowledge, and communicate aftercare follow-up instructions to patients.

Requirements:

  • Medical Assistant experience or equivalent in a high-volume medical setting
  • Completion of a technical/vocational training school program with CMA, AAMA, RMA, or CCMA Medical Assistant certification
  • Previous experience scribing in the room for the Provider
  • Current CPR, First Aid, or BLS certificate
  • Ability to speak other languages a plus

Working Conditions:

The Medical Assistant will be required to move from one location to another within and outside of the building, push, pull, and reach, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods. The ability to work 8-10+ hour shifts and be available for overtime when necessary is also required.
