Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in supporting our team of Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants in delivering exceptional dermatology care to our patients.
Responsibilities include greeting and interacting with patients, collecting patient intake information, responding to electronic patient correspondence, performing point-of-care testing, scribing in the electronic medical record system, setting up exam rooms, and preparing for surgical procedures.
The Medical Assistant will also assist with surgical procedures, maintain medical terminology knowledge, especially as it pertains to dermatology, and communicate aftercare follow-up instructions to patients.
Additionally, the Medical Assistant will perform in-room scribing with medical providers, ensure accuracy in all charting activities, and assist with ordering and inventory of medical supplies.
Requirements include medical assistant experience, completion of a technical/vocational training school program, and certification as a CMA, AAMA, RMA, or CCMA Medical Assistant.
Preferred qualifications include previous experience scribing in the room for the Provider, current CPR, First Aid, or BLS certification, and the ability to speak other languages.
Working conditions include the ability to move from one location to another, push, pull, and reach, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
The Medical Assistant must be able to work 8-10+ hour shifts, be available for overtime when necessary, and have reliable transportation.
