POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Production Planning Specialist is tasked with leveraging QAD and Preactor to establish and uphold a constrained Master Production Plan (MPP) while overseeing the necessary planning timeframe for all designated Finished Goods and Work In Progress production needs. This role involves coordinating and communicating the MPP with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Facilities, and other essential stakeholders. The Specialist will fulfill designated components of the Order Fulfillment Process, addressing issues and conveying potential impacts to key business partners. The Senior Production Planning Specialist will add value through innovative planning that enhances business outcomes. Collaboration with stakeholders to support the monthly Sales and Operations Planning process (S&OP) is also a key responsibility. Additionally, the role involves working closely with Sharp External Supply to ensure a reliable and continuous supply of packaging components while optimizing the use of available capacity and labor resources.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Acquire a comprehensive understanding of the company's products and processes to guarantee optimal stability of the Master Production Plan (MPP), including order creation, rescheduling, and load-leveling. Develop a capacity-constrained daily Master Production Plan (MPP) that meets customer demand with optimal resource utilization, adhering to company policies for detailed material/capacity planning and financial forecasting. Conduct rough cut capacity planning and site/portfolio MPP assessments concerning labor resources, shifts, equipment, and downtime. Engage in the Integrated Business Plan (IBP) process as necessary. Review and refine the MPP, addressing issues and optimizing the plan while running various scenarios as required. Communicate the constrained MPP to the Detailed Scheduler, managing the transition from planning horizon to firm commitments. Process order confirmations by providing Available To Ship (ATS) dates as part of the Order Fulfillment Process for customer orders within a five-day timeframe. Handle reconfirmation orders as needed and participate in the Request to Change MPP escalation process as necessary. Collaborate with Data Control to recommend planned scheduling parameters such as item master/material master data, ensuring accuracy and currency of master data (e.g., part numbers, bills of materials, vendor information). Assist in identifying and resolving conflicts related to manufacturing, materials, and capacity availability, managing the impact and communication of changes while maintaining order promising integrity. Escalate issues as appropriate. Participate in cross-functional meetings and forums as required. Provide Supply Planning insights into the S&OP process, ensuring transparency of risks and opportunities while participating in S&OP forums as applicable. Execute planning to support new product launches and phase-in/phase-out initiatives, including involvement in Onboarding Meetings to provide feedback. Monitor Supply Chain Key Performance Indicators and data to facilitate process improvements and informed decision-making. Undertake additional Supply Chain planning and analysis tasks as required.

SUPERVISORY ROLE

This position does not entail supervisory responsibilities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

A minimum of a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with a focus on Supply Chain or a related field is required, along with 5-7 years of relevant experience. Related experience and/or education may be considered. Supply Chain Certification (APICS CPIM, CSCP, or similar / IBF) is preferred. Proficiency in ERP & Advanced Planning Systems is essential. Experience in planning or manufacturing within pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or Contract Manufacturing or Packaging is necessary. Strong interpersonal skills, confidence, and a collaborative attitude are required to effectively engage with other functional areas of the company in a matrix environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Ability to work on-site five days a week is required. Fluency in English is mandatory.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Experience in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or Contract Manufacturing or Packaging is advantageous. Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to manage and manipulate large datasets and translate them into clear business insights. Capacity to influence others in a matrix environment, fostering strong collaborative relationships while considering diverse perspectives and styles. Ability to make sound recommendations based on data and business insights. Proficient in tailoring communications for various audiences and delivering presentations to small to medium-sized groups. Ability to anticipate risks and navigate ambiguity successfully, evaluating multiple scenarios to identify cost/benefit trade-offs and making data-supported recommendations. Capacity to challenge existing processes and assess if refinements could enhance speed, productivity, or quality, along with familiarity with Continuous Improvement tools. Strong soft skills, including high emotional intelligence. Awareness of all relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as per company policy related to this position.
