Salary and Benefits
The estimated annual salary for this position is $62,400 - $91,620, based on experience and qualifications. About the Job
We are seeking an experienced Intensive Care Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Flaget Memorial Hospital. As a member of our ICU team, you will be responsible for providing nursing care according to the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. You will administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and established nursing policies and procedures.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
- You will assume responsibility for acquiring knowledge and skills necessary for patient care in the identified practice setting.
- You will perform assessment and analyze patient problems and conditions using critical decisioning to determine need for standard, urgent or emergent interventions.
- You will implement and/or modify plan of care using assessment data, standards of care and evidence-based practice inclusive of nursing care coordination, appropriate patient and family education, and discharge planning. You will facilitate interdisciplinary partnership in patient care.
- You will integrate ethical provisions in nursing practice and deliver care in a manner that preserves and protects patient autonomy, dignity, and rights.
- You will administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments in compliance with policies and procedures.
- You will evaluate progress towards attainment of desired patient outcomes.
- You will demonstrate effective ongoing observations and reassessment of patient/family and their response to the interventions and changes in condition.
- You will document assessments and interventions in accordance with hospital policy and standards of care.
- You will utilize resources appropriately and follow facility guidelines for documentation and charging of medical supplies and equipment.
- You will assign or delegate tasks to designated support personnel based on needs and conditions of the patient, complexity of the task, predictability of the outcome, and facility policy.
- You will collaborate with new employees and peers to support orientation, training, and development opportunities. You will support the profession of nursing through support for nursing student clinical activities, as appropriate.
- You will perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
- Current RN license in the State of Kentucky required
- BLS certification required
