Job Summary

Western Engineering Contractors, Inc. is seeking a skilled GPS Technician-Coordinator to join our Grading Division team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maximizing the use of our GPS system to increase field efficiencies and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • GPS System Management: Collaborate with superintendents and foremen to ensure effective use of GPS equipment.
  • Equipment Tracking and Maintenance: Oversee the tracking and maintenance of GPS equipment, topography, and utility mapping.
  • Training and Model Building: Develop and implement training programs for GPS system users and create detailed models for construction projects.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; field experience in construction drafting or surveying is preferred.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience with GPS systems, topography mapping, and computerized modeling software.
  • Skills: Knowledge of GPS systems, AutoCAD, and Excel; familiarity with earthmoving operations, surveying, and staking.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Software Proficiency: Agtek Earthwork 3D, Agtek Materials 2000, or similar software applications.
  • Industry Knowledge: General knowledge of the construction industry, plan reading, and the roles of various parties involved in the construction process.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to interact effectively with customers and colleagues.
