Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at the University of Iowa Health Care North Liberty Campus. As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will provide pharmaceutical care services in clinical and operational roles within acute care and ambulatory care settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide therapeutic drug monitoring, order and prescription verification, and oversight of the preparation and dispensing of sterile and non-sterile products.
  • Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Develop and implement medication therapy plans to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Participate in medication use evaluations, adverse drug reaction reporting, and other quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide education and training to patients, healthcare providers, and students on medication use and management.
Requirements
  • PharmD (Doctor of Pharmacy) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree.
  • One year of applicable pharmacy experience.
  • Current licensure by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy Examiners.
  • Immunization Certification.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Satisfactory completion of an ASHP accredited PGY1 Residency in hospital pharmacy practice.
  • Health system pharmacy experience.
  • Sterile and non-sterile compounding experience.
