Job Overview

The Mobile Equipment Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of various mobile machinery including Forklifts, Hysters, Yale, Ramonds, and Seegrids. This role involves inspecting, fixing, and ensuring the optimal performance of diesel engines. Technicians will adjust equipment to repair or replace faulty components and utilize diagnostic tools to identify issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough testing of mechanical equipment post-repair to confirm compliance with manufacturer standards.
  • Interpret and apply knowledge from operating manuals, blueprints, and technical schematics.
  • Dismantle and reassemble heavy machinery using appropriate tools and hoists.
  • Plan and execute maintenance tasks efficiently and on schedule.
  • Ensure all DOT inspections for trucks and trailers are up to date.
  • Maintain detailed service records for each vehicle, documenting service intervals and repairs.
  • Communicate effectively with management to coordinate tasks and provide progress updates.
  • Operate all machinery safely and responsibly, reporting any incidents or injuries immediately.
  • Lift items weighing up to 75 lbs as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in maintenance is preferred.
  • Ability to adhere to safety protocols due to physical demands of the role.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.

This position may involve physical activities such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and prolonged periods of walking and standing. Uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
