Maintenance Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Federal Signal. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and equipment.

• Oversee the maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment, including PLCs, plasmas, brakes, shears, and welding power supplies.
• Train and supervise maintenance staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure equipment is properly maintained and repaired in a timely manner.
• Diagnose and repair or replace faulty electrical and mechanical components, including relays, switches, motors, and circuit boards.
• Identify and develop a critical spare parts list, order and maintain critical parts inventory.
• Assist with continuous process improvement and lean initiatives by following process flow, remaining flexible to complete tasks as part of the team, maintaining a clean work environment, and offering suggestions for improvements.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including lubricating equipment, replacing filters, and performing other tasks as needed.
• Assist with the installation of new equipment and the removal of old equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

• 1-2 years of experience in plant maintenance or electrical maintenance.
• Experience working with electrical control panels and basic working knowledge of how electrical currents work and how to avoid injury.
• Ability to read and accurately interpret measuring devices, schematics, ladder diagrams, and electric symbols.
• Ability to determine and make equipment adjustments as needed, read complicated instructions, and perform computer data entry.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to work on concrete in a variety of positions, including kneeling, crouching, bending, twisting, turning, and occasionally climbing.
• Ability to pass forklift training and operate effectively and safely.
• Ability to manually move products and materials up to 50 lbs. through occasional heavy physical exertion, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and bending.
• Ability to work at a reasonable pace to ensure timely completion of tasks, within our quality standards, and work overtime as required to meet customer needs.
• Ability to work in a safe manner following safety procedures, including wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), completing maintenance requests, and communicating hazards to co-workers and management.

• Experience working with Trumpf Laser, Press Brakes, Shears, Saws, and Welders.
• Experience with electrical troubleshooting and repair.
• Experience with PLC programming and control systems.
• Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous process improvement.

The Maintenance Supervisor will work in a heavy industrial atmosphere, including exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards, grease, oil, heat, humidity, fumes/odors, mists, dust, sparks, occasionally cramped quarters, and occasionally heights.
