We are in search of a highly qualified and seasoned Senior Legal Advisor to become a vital part of our executive leadership. This position is essential for safeguarding the organization's interests, managing legal risks, and advancing our commitment to exceptional care.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Healthcare Compliance:
  • Deliver expert legal counsel on healthcare regulations, ensuring adherence to federal and state laws.
  • Supervise legal facets of healthcare operations, including patient rights, confidentiality, and regulatory standards.
  • Employee and Corporate Agreements:
  • Draft, assess, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including employee contracts, service agreements, and corporate collaborations.
  • Ensure agreements comply with relevant laws and align with the organization's strategic objectives.
  • Multi-State Operations:
  • Oversee legal issues related to the organization's operations across various states.
  • Remain informed about state-specific regulations and ensure compliance in all areas of operation.
  • Employment Law:
  • Provide guidance on employment law matters, including hiring practices, employee relations, terminations, and workplace policies.
  • Develop and implement employment policies that reduce legal risks and foster a positive workplace culture.
  • Non-Solicit and Non-Compete Agreements:
  • Draft and enforce non-solicit and non-compete agreements to safeguard the organization's business interests.
  • Manage disputes concerning non-solicit and non-compete provisions.
  • Legal Risk Management:
  • Identify and evaluate legal risks, and formulate strategies to mitigate them.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on legal issues and compliance matters.
  • Knowledge of IN Network Contract Negotiation/Review/Administration
  • General Risk Compliance:
  • Familiarity with Property, General Liability, Professional, Directors and Officers, Umbrella, Employment Practices, Cyber, Auto, etc. ("Package Policies")
  • Insurance application/administration within the healthcare sector.
  • Understanding of operational policies and procedures to ensure compliance with "Package Policies".
  • Main contact for all "package policy claims" and all facility-level incident reports.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law institution.
  • Active membership in good standing with at least one state bar; multi-state bar memberships are preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of legal experience, focusing on healthcare, employment law, and corporate agreements.
  • Demonstrated experience in a senior legal capacity within the healthcare sector, ideally in behavioral health or addiction treatment.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, HITECH, and state-specific laws.
  • Exceptional negotiation, drafting, and communication abilities.
  • Capability to manage complex legal challenges and provide practical, solution-oriented advice.
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to collaborate effectively with executive teams.

Compensation: $236,000-$302,000
