About the Role
  • As a Unit Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and leading a team of nurses to achieve exceptional outcomes.
  • You will work closely with the nursing team to develop and implement unit-based quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and effective communication.
  • Conduct regular rounds to assess patient needs and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Responsibilities
  • Review core measures and key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement.
  • Participate in simulation labs and Operating Room safety stand-downs to enhance patient safety.
  • Contribute to professional decision-making to support and implement unit-based quality improvement work.
  • Recognize and coach staff in all elements of the care delivery model.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure intentional and purposeful patient rounding.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing.
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required from American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Completion of revised Charge Nurse workshop within first 90 days.
  • RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a RN.
  • Proficient in English, strong verbal and written communication skills.
