Work Environment

This role is situated within our Meat division, which specializes in creating various breading, batter, and coating blends. The position is designated for the 2nd Shift.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Quality team, including managing schedules, approving time records, conducting evaluations, providing guidance, and documenting performance.
  • Support the plant's Food Safety & Quality System to ensure the production of safe, high-quality food, serving as the SQF Practitioner or an equivalent GFSI manager.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Manager to update and enhance food safety programs and systems, including HACCP, sanitation, and environmental monitoring. Maintain the plant's quality systems.
  • Ensure that work instructions, SSOPs, procedures, and other relevant documentation are current.
  • Participate in internal audits to ensure compliance with internal quality policies and local regulations, and assist in developing corrective actions with site management.
  • Support the facility during inspections, customer audits, and interactions with regulatory agencies.
  • Provide technical support to quality assurance and operational teams.
  • Conduct training specific to departmental and job requirements.
  • Perform laboratory analyses and investigations, developing and applying innovative techniques.
  • Maintain records of test results and product evaluations.
  • Update product specifications, including customer and raw material specifications, to reflect any changes or requirements.
  • Prepare testing schedules and procedures, solutions, and reagents for laboratory personnel.
  • Ensure that finished products and raw materials are tested according to Kerry specifications.
  • Develop and adhere to Quality Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Engage in quality complaint investigations.
  • Verify the completion of corrective actions and ongoing compliance.

Qualifications for Success

  • A Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Willingness to work the 2nd Shift.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in quality assurance within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems, GFSI standards, SSOPs, environmental hygiene programs, and HACCP.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP is advantageous.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation Overview

The typical salary range for this position is between $73,758 and $108,755 annually, influenced by factors such as education, experience, certifications, and location. Kerry also provides a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive programs, equity stock purchase options, and retirement contributions, all subject to eligibility requirements.
