Diesel and CNG Tractor Mechanic Job Description

The Diesel and CNG Tractor Mechanic is a critical role within our fleet operations, responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our tractor and trailer equipment. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on tractor and trailer equipment, including diesel and CNG engines, fuel systems, and electrical systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues, including engine failures and system malfunctions.
  • Inspect and repair undercarriage components, such as shocks, wheel bearings, and air suspension systems.
  • Comply with DOT regulations and maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance teams to ensure seamless equipment operation and minimize downtime.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel and CNG engine systems, including fuel systems and electrical systems.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification preferred.
