Job Summary:

The Nursing Department Manager will be responsible for supervising and directing nursing staff during assigned shifts, assessing patient needs, collaborating with advanced practice providers, and implementing quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Assigns and directs nursing staff, ensuring adequate staffing levels and effective use of resources.">
  • Assesses patient needs and develops individualized care plans, prioritizing tasks and allocating resources accordingly.">
  • Collaborates with advanced practice providers to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.">
  • Develops and implements quality improvement initiatives, monitoring outcomes and making data-driven decisions to enhance patient care.">
  • Maintains accurate records and reports, including staff performance evaluations and quality metrics.">
  • Participates in budget planning and resource allocation, ensuring effective use of resources and achieving departmental goals.">
  • Fosters a culture of teamwork and open communication, promoting a positive work environment and addressing conflicts or concerns promptly.">
  • Stays up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory requirements, applying this knowledge to improve departmental operations and patient outcomes.">

Requirements:

  • ">
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field required; master's degree preferred.">
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a registered nurse, preferably in a leadership or management role.">
  • Current licensure as a registered nurse in Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, or Wisconsin (dependent on location).">
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association (AHA) required.">
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.">
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build strong relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.">
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to collect and analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.">
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records and other relevant software applications.">
