Job Summary

The University of Wisconsin - River Falls is seeking a highly skilled Financial Specialist III to join our team. This is a fixed-term renewable position with a salary range of $43,000 - $45,000.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative and financial support for the University Center and business partnerships.
  • Manage budgets, finance, accounting, invoicing, and deposits related to Chartwells, Follett, and Canteen.
  • Review and process estimated $4.5-5 million in dining contractor board plan invoices.
  • Monitor financial transactions and fund balances, and generate and reconcile complex reports and statements.
  • Record and process Mazevo invoices and departmental transfers.
  • Calculate chargeback figures and coordinate all associated payments and account transfers.
  • Reconcile, deposit, and record commissions associated with the Dining Contract, Bookstore Contract, and Campus Vending Services Contract.
  • Reallocate expenses to appropriate funding strings for various University Center and Dining accounts and sub-accounts.
  • Draft communications and reports, and maintain organization of varied records.
  • Maintain all office files related to deposits, commissions, chargebacks, and invoices.
  • Create standing purchase orders for the University Center and Dining.
  • Serve as a liaison to leadership, providing financial advice, recommendations, and financial status updates.
  • Answer complex fiscal questions and provide information based on set materials and standards.
  • Reconcile all deposits associated with the University Center and Dining.
  • Review transaction processing internal controls and recommend policies and procedures.
  • Train staff on financial processes and best practices.
  • Provide supply ordering support for the University Center Operations Staff.
  • Attend trainings and updates related to policy or process changes.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral/written communication, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and resolution skills.
  • Experience in office and financial management.
  • Ability to understand and interpret policy and procedure documents.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite, email, calendar, and internet systems.
  • Ability to work in an integrated automated financial and payroll system.
  • Ability to detect errors and analyze source of discrepancies.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field.
