Key Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in representing lenders and creditors within bankruptcy proceedings, asset-based lending, foreclosures, and debtor-in-possession financing arrangements.
  • Familiarity with Illinois commercial mortgage foreclosure, forbearance, receivership law, personal property foreclosure, the Fraudulent Transfer Act, and other remedies under Article 9 of the UCC. Additional knowledge in investor representation, financial sponsor transactions, exchange offers, debt-for-equity swaps, prepackaged and prearranged chapter 11 cases, loan restructuring (including conversion of debt to equity and participating loans), and bankruptcy litigation is advantageous.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities. The selected attorney will play a vital role within the team and must possess the confidence and demeanor to foster relationships with clients. This role involves serving as a business advisor, assisting clients with a comprehensive range of legal matters throughout their business lifecycle.
  • A degree or background in business or finance is considered beneficial.
  • Candidates must hold a current license in Illinois or be licensed in another state with a UBE score that qualifies for comity in Illinois, be eligible for waiver, or be prepared to take the upcoming Illinois bar exam (relocation candidates who meet these criteria are welcome). A portable book of business is essential.
  • This position offers the opportunity to manage all facets of intricate and sophisticated transactions for clients across various industries.
