Key Responsibilities

As the primary dining establishment at The Links at Lakehouse, Brickmans serves guests from both the restaurant and hotel. Your role will involve delivering exceptional guest service and hospitality in the bar area. You will also be tasked with maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the bar, as well as taking food and drink orders from patrons. Proficiency in preparing and serving beverages efficiently is essential, along with the ability to promote our offerings during the dining experience.

PRIMARY DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
  • Welcome guests warmly and bid them farewell; engage with them in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Deliver outstanding guest service to ensure a memorable experience.
  • Adhere to all service protocols as outlined by company standards.
  • Acquire and maintain in-depth knowledge of the food, wine, and beverage offerings, as well as general property information; respond to guest inquiries and provide recommendations.
  • Process guest food and beverage orders, both in-person and via phone; input orders into the point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Manage cash and credit transactions, ensuring accuracy in charges and returning correct change to guests.
  • Maintain the dining area; pre-bus and bus tables, ensuring cleanliness and orderliness.
  • Clear and reset tables while upholding high sanitation standards.
  • Refill water glasses, polish silverware and glassware, and deliver food to tables.
  • Actively promote menu items, specials, beverages, and desserts to enhance profitability.
  • Select and mix ingredients, garnish glasses, and provide tailored beverage recommendations.
  • Stay updated on the latest mixology trends, bar equipment, and sanitation standards, focusing on maintaining a clean and appealing bar.
  • Address and resolve guest complaints promptly; inform management of any unresolved issues requiring their attention.
  • Maintain a composed and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Familiarize yourself with returning guests, noting their preferences and special requests.
  • Be prepared to undertake other reasonable tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management.
CORE COMPETENCIES/REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum of 2 years of bartending experience preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification required.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Basic math and computer proficiency.
  • Possess a positive attitude and the ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with diverse individuals.
  • Ability to learn the menu thoroughly and respond to food and beverage inquiries from guests.
  • Able to stand for extended periods.
  • Capable of performing high-quality work independently.
  • Able to safely lift and maneuver trays of food and other items.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs.
