Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Health Instructor to join our team at ETR/Westover Job Corps Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining an effective trainee employee assistance program (TEAP) that focuses on substance abuse awareness, prevention, and education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments of students to identify those who may be in need of intervention due to substance use.
  • Provide individual and group counseling to students who require support.
  • Participate in the orientation of new students during the Career Preparation Period.
  • Ensure students who test positive for drugs are retested within the 45-day probationary period.
  • Offer follow-up counseling to students who have completed TEAP to encourage and prevent relapse.
  • Deliver prevention education to all student employees throughout the Job Corps program.
  • Conduct in-service training sessions with staff and students on substance use and abuse.
  • Collaborate with the recreational department to develop leisure activities and incentives that promote an alcohol- and drug-free lifestyle.
  • Recommend medical separation with reinstatement for students who require substance abuse treatment.
  • Act as a liaison between the center and agency resource and referral contacts.
  • Maintain confidential reports and records on referrals and cases.
  • Collaborate with the Center's Mental Health Clinic.
Requirements
  • State certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor.
  • 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
