Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Neonatal ICU Registered Nurse to join our team at Children's National in Washington DC. As a member of our NICU team, you will provide exceptional care to critically ill newborns and their families.
About the RoleThis is a 70-bed Level IV NICU, providing comprehensive medical-surgical care to infants with conditions including but not limited to pre-maturity, genetic disorders, pulmonary disorders, and cardiac disorders. Our team works collaboratively to provide ECMO services, inter-hospital transportation, and whole-body cooling for treatment of birth asphyxia/hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to critically ill newborns and their families
- Collaborate with the neonatal-neurology team to develop care and neuromonitoring protocols for infants with potential brain injury
- Work with the neuroimaging team radiology to conduct translational research in the area of neonatal brain injury
- Consult with the Fetal/Translational Program as needed for maternal referrals and neonatology support for delivery room stabilization of high-risk patients
- 2 years of Level 4 NICU experience
- Float to PICU & CICU
- BLS (AHA) certification
- Covid Vaccine
- DC License
