Under the direction of the Medical Director, the Nurse Practitioner (Safety) performs a variety of duties as directed. A Nurse Practitioner, in accordance with established protocols and in collaboration with a physician or physicians, provides clinical assessment and case management services to individuals.
Responsibilities- Provides clinical assessment and case management services to individuals.
- Works under the direction of the Medical Director.
- Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Develops and implements treatment plans for individuals.
- Provides education and support to individuals and their families.
The Nurse Practitioner (Safety) works in a fast-paced environment with ongoing interaction with clients. Potential exposure to communicable diseases and blood-borne pathogens is possible. The position requires the ability to spend more than 50% of time performing duties involving health and behavioral care of forensic clients in the facility; assisting with inspecting facilities to identify security breaches that could lead to the escape of a forensic client; and observing and intervening in forensic client behavior that may injure people, damage property or signal impending escape attempts.
Requirements- Must possess and maintain sufficient strength, agility, endurance and sensory ability to perform the duties contained in the duty statement.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with ongoing interaction with clients.
- Must be able to provide clinical assessment and case management services to individuals.
- The position requires a Background Investigation to be cleared prior to being hired.
- The position requires Medical Clearance prior to being hired.
