Nurse Practitioner

Under the direction of the Medical Director, the Nurse Practitioner (Safety) performs a variety of duties as directed. This position is responsible for providing clinical assessment and case management services to individuals in accordance with established protocols and in collaboration with a physician or physicians.
Responsibilities- Provides clinical assessment and case management services to individuals
- Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans
- Conducts ongoing interaction with clients, including potential exposure to communicable diseases and blood-borne pathogens
- Spends more than 50% of time performing duties involving health and behavioral care of forensic clients in the facility
- Assists with inspecting facilities to identify security breaches that could lead to the escape of a forensic client
- Observes and intervenes in forensic client behavior that may injure people, damage property, or signal impending escape attempts
- Must possess and maintain sufficient strength, agility, endurance, and sensory ability to perform the duties contained in the duty statement
- Must have a background investigation cleared prior to being hired
- Must have medical clearance prior to being hired
