Job Summary

Responsibilities
  • Support the Assistant Nurse Manager, Nursing Operations Manager, or Practice Manager in operational issues.
  • Participate in quality initiatives, goal attainment, and clinical outcome process improvement activities.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and family members.
  • Collaborate with administrative and operations staff.
  • Assist patients and families with preparation for examination.
  • Assist the physician during examination and procedures.
  • Provide routine treatments and administer approved medication types.
  • Document patient data, treatments, procedures, and patient education according to Orlando Health and department-specific policies.
  • Process incoming and outgoing calls in an independent and professional manner.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school or 5 years of verifiable applicable work experience in a patient care setting.
  • Maintains current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification.
  • Maintains current certification by one of the following agencies: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA).
