Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Professor of Collision Technology to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching assigned courses in accordance with the course syllabus and college policy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned courses in a manner that reflects a commitment to the college's Core Values and knowledge of the teaching field.
  • Continuously update and revise course content and teaching methodology to maintain currency and relevance.
  • Maintain familiarity with current texts, materials, teaching aids, and techniques relative to courses within the discipline.
  • Actively seek ways to improve instruction and provide advice and/or assistance to adjunct faculty in regard to course content and instructional materials.
  • Post and observe a minimum of six office hours per week for purposes of academic advising and student consultation.
  • Advise and assist students during the ongoing registration process.
  • Actively participate in discipline, division, and districtwide task forces and committees.
  • Attend scheduled discipline, division, and districtwide meetings.
  • Perform registration tasks determined in consultation with the division dean, associate dean, or director.
  • Participate in full regalia in official graduation ceremonies.
  • Work with Library staff in the selection of print and non-print materials in the overall collection development of the Library.
  • Perform other duties as determined in consultation with the division dean, associate dean, or director.
Requirements
  • Associate degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • Teaching experience is desired.
  • Community college or university teaching experience is desired.
  • Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (I-CAR) or Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification required.
Physical Demands, Working Conditions, and Physical Effort

Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. Positions in this class typically require talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking, and repetitive motions. Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Office environment. Little physical effort required.
