Senior Avionics Systems Engineer

As a key member of our team at EVONA, you will play a crucial role in leading the design, development, integration, and testing of avionics hardware and systems. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a talented team of engineers and contribute to the development of cutting-edge spacecraft avionics systems.


You will be responsible for assisting with the design and implementation of high-performance, high-reliability avionics and electrical systems, including harnessing, batteries, and power systems, sensors, mechanisms, navigation, safety systems, and flight computers. Your expertise will be essential in driving rapid execution and iteration efforts to put hardware in orbit quickly.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Design, develop, build, and test avionics systems to meet company and mission goals.
  • Drive rapid execution and iteration efforts to deliver high-quality avionics systems.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers to foster technical excellence and ownership within the Avionics engineering team.
  • Design avionics systems that provide new capabilities for the in-space economy and meet company objectives.
  • Negotiate requirements by understanding company and mission objectives and providing alternative solutions.
  • Implement test plans consistent with the risk posture of the mission and own the outcome of test campaigns.
  • Conduct design reviews, test readiness reviews, and flight readiness reviews with a focus on technical excellence.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a science discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience designing complex electrical and/or control systems that operate in harsh environments.
  • Ability to maintain flexibility in direction under changing circumstances.
  • Track record of delivering novel, excellent technical products.
  • Experience managing analysis products and incorporating feedback into design.
