About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at DispatchHealth Management. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for performing mobile diagnostic imaging procedures in a variety of settings and locations to support the diagnostic and treatment of disease and injuries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Travel to various locations to perform portable x-rays and EKG exams
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and protocols while performing diagnostic imaging exams
  • Collect and verify patient information and order documentation prior to procedures
  • Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging exams
  • Operate portable radiologic equipment at patient's bedside or other designated exam settings
  • Determine exposure factors based on patient's height, weight, body part, and degree of penetration required
  • Ensure safe work practices, including radiation safety and ALARA principles, infection control, and use of personal protective equipment
  • Prepare images for reading by radiologist or requesting physician
  • Process and review images for diagnostic quality prior to transmission
  • Transmit images and associated documentation in a timely manner according to company protocols
  • Complete forms and maintain records, visit logs, and reports of work performed
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment, and assist with troubleshooting and problem-solving as directed
  • Take care of company vehicle and ensure it is well-stocked with necessary supplies
  • Operate and behave in compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal rules and regulations related to portable imaging procedures and standards
  • Perform training and orientation of other employees as requested by management
  • Assist with order taking, validation of studies, communication with reading radiologists, customer call-backs, and other administrative and customer support functions as directed
  • Act professionally and exhibit courtesy, friendliness, and a positive attitude when interacting with coworkers, patients, patient's family, client staff, physicians, and others
  • Demonstrate personal commitment to the mission, values, and ethics of the company
  • Follow direction and adhere to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Communicate positively and professionally with everyone
  • Perform work safely, without causing harm or risk to self, others, or property
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use of company computers, systems, programs, and digital x-ray technology

Requirements
  • Meet state-specific and federal requirements to perform portable x-rays, including registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Radiologic Technologist RT (R)
  • Hold a valid state-issued driver's license and maintain a good driving record
  • Ability to move or lift equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs easily while carrying equipment
  • Ability to work a varied schedule that may require evenings, holidays, and weekends
