The firm also manages a variety of traditional civil engineering projects across multiple states.

The Senior Civil Engineering Manager is tasked with the comprehensive oversight of commercial, industrial, municipal, and various other projects, occasionally taking direct responsibility for civil design initiatives. The primary goal is to ensure client satisfaction while aligning with the firm’s core values. The ideal candidate will work to guarantee that projects are delivered on time and within budget, operating with minimal supervision and utilizing available resources to provide top-notch services to clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Mentor and guide junior staff daily to meet project goals.

Engage regularly with current and prospective clients, local officials, developers, and other stakeholders.

Support project objectives by collaborating with the Assistant Project Manager and Project Manager, ensuring resources are effectively allocated.

Participate in team discussions to ensure project execution aligns with the firm’s core values.

Establish and manage project budgets to prevent overruns.

Maintain consistent communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle.

Promote the firm’s services to potential clients in accordance with the marketing strategy.

Prepare project proposals and contracts for review.

Review financial documents with project managers to uphold budgetary commitments.

Set project completion timelines and delegate scheduling tasks.

Ensure adherence to project schedules as outlined by the project manager.

Communicate project opportunities promptly to leadership for resolution.

Directly supervise project team members.

Perform additional related duties as required.

The Senior Civil Engineering Manager should be committed to continuous learning and applying insights from previous projects.

Proactively assist the project team in achieving objectives and enhancing project management practices.

Provide mentorship and support to develop the next generation of project professionals.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

In-depth knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices.

Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other relevant design software is preferred.

Comprehensive understanding of construction materials, methods, and safety regulations.

Ability to identify and resolve complex engineering challenges.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Detail-oriented with a balance of creativity and analytical thinking.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited program.

Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is required, with a preference for PE in Civil Engineering.

A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is required; 10+ years is preferred.

Completion of over 10 projects from inception to completion.

Experience working with local government entities regarding design criteria and permitting.

Strong organizational and analytical skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.

Willingness to travel to various project locations.

Ability to access and navigate construction sites.
