Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Contributing Faculty Member to join our team at the University of Saint Augustine. As a Contributing Faculty Member, you will be responsible for providing engaging and clinically-focused learning opportunities for students in the health science professions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain expertise in content area and promote student success through optimal student engagement.
  • Complete all course management requirements to meet program deadlines and prepare and deliver course content.
  • Monitor student progress, give feedback as appropriate, and facilitate student participation in learning activities.
  • Serve as a student-to-university liaison, report student outcomes, and use this information for teaching and learning improvements.
  • Assess student performance on papers/examinations/projects and communicate with program director regarding student difficulties or issues that arise.
  • Ensure consistent content and testing, complete annual self-evaluation of teaching performance, and set goals for improvement.
  • Keep course content current and aligned with course consistency policy, recommend course improvements for upcoming semester, and promote professionalism by modeling such behaviors inside and outside the classroom setting.
  • Collaborate with necessary departments to support a positive team environment and uphold University core values, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
  • Experience with distance learning preferred, terminal degree preferred, or post-professional master's degree or clinical doctorate with demonstrated clinical expertise.
  • Prior teaching experience preferred, experience in scholarly activity preferred, and a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in the area of course content required.
  • Working knowledge of educational theory and methodology, faculty members must be appropriately credentialed, possess an earned degree from an accredited institution or recognized by a country's ministry of education in the discipline being taught, and be licensed or license-eligible in order to teach in specific programs.

Work Environment

Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment but may involve exposure to moderate noise levels. Work involves operation of personal computer equipment for six to eight hours daily and includes physical demands associated with a traditional office setting, e.g., walking, standing, communicating, and other physical functions as necessary.
